We, here at First Lutheran, teach and believe that Christ’s body

and blood are really present in the Lord’s Supper [Communion].

In other words, in, with, and under the bread and wine are the true presence of the body and blood of our Lord. As Jesus Himself proclaimed, “This is My body..., This is My blood...”

We believe this to be so based on faith and not reason. For we believe it to be a

miracle and of eternal importance. Paul writes “For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord, eats and drinks judgment on himself.”

We, at First Lutheran, realize that this is not the teaching of all

churches. We do not wish to offend anyone. So if our teaching

troubles you, or if you do not quite understand it, please talk with

an Elder or the Pastor before communing.

If you are a member of a Lutheran Church
or if you believe as we believe and desire to
participate in the Lord’s Supper, you are welcome.
May God guide your decision.
